Educational Evaluations

Parents, educators, and other professionals often refer children and adolescents for an evaluation of their learning profile.  These evaluations provide insight into a child or adolescent’s academic and cognitive functioning.  Formal evaluation of a child or adolescent’s intellectual functioning and academic performance in addition to gathering qualitative data from parents, teachers, and other treating professionals is key to determining what might be affecting a child or adolescent’s performance in school.  After contacting Lisa to describe the nature of the concern, data is collected from parents, school, and therapists.  Formal testing is conducted over the course of two to three days, depending on the age of the child, and is completed in a one on one setting.  Once all of the formal and informal data is collected, Lisa meets with the family to provide information based on the results of the evaluation.
A formal report is then completed that outlines specific recommendations for intervention and classroom accommodations if needed.
